What we are about ...

Heaven Sent Dessert's restaurantWhat does a shuddering aeroplane fuselage, parachuting from 20,000 feet into alien lands, inoculating against disease, the Paris air show and sand, lots and lots and lots of sand, have to do with Heaven Sent Desserts?
Everything, actually. What better antidote to homesickness, to fatigue, to exhaustion, to MREs, to living in a rucksack, than desserts? Heaven Sent Desserts is about relaxing, sharing, and caring. We believe that eating a dessert which tastes wonderful will bring a smile to everyone's face. And smiling is good ...

Lachlan Oliver joined the Air Force in 1993. His experiences as a medic and rescue special operations operator took him to all the different corners of the world where conflict, turmoil and pressure was always present and often open violence also. His work as a medic also included humanitarian missions, medical aid to children, rescue work from earthquakes, downed pilots. There is a lot of sand in Afghanistan and Iraq ...

His brother Sean, served as a Blackhawk helicopter pilot in the Army and saw tours of duty in Korea, Europe and several tours in Iraq. Sean joined the Army because he loves flying; he and his helicopter participated in the Paris air show one year, then it was off Iraq and living in a container with all the sand.

For both Lachlan and Sean, thinking of home, thinking of "good things" meant desserts - MREs provide the nutrition but leave a lot to the imagination, and they dreamt of desserts ... and Lachlan promised himself that when they came back, no holds barred - it was going to be desserts all the way.
