Meet Lachlan Oliver, Young Man Extraordinaire

Lachlan Oliver from Heaven SentLachlan Oliver from Heaven SentLachlan was always a very determined young man, from his earliest age through kindergarten and later elementary school and High School. He was the only one of my children who in kindergarten insisted that he was wasting his time listening to the teacher when he could be out there making mud pies! His siblings will attest to his sugar addiction - we did ration him on his sugar intake - but even so he was more than a handful most of the time. This restless energy only increased with advancing age, and when he was 19 he declared his intent to join the Air Force. Had he told me then what his true intent was - to become a PJ - I would have moved heaven and earth to keep my baby safe at home. But, he did not, and I was a very proud mother at his graduation from Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base, with the young Airmen standing at attention in the pouring rain. Lachlan Oliver from Heaven Sent He then proudly showed me the jumping tower and the PJ barracks on base and said "that's where I am going next"; the rest is history - a PJ who served with honour and courage "So that Others May Live".
